Can I change the 17 inch wheels on my 2004 Mazda 6 to 15 inch wheels. ?

I was recently in Ohio and ran into someone who pulled the 17 inch rims off her car and put 15 inch rims on it. Since I am sick of paying 0 a set for 17 inch tires would this work on a Mazda 6 2004 hatchback - only thing I can see that would change is the clearance on the brake callipers might interfere. What else could happen here.

as long as ur going smaller it should work, but your speedometer will be off and you will need new rims.

Fouling brakes or suspension could be a problem. What will be a problem though is that downgrading the tires that much will drastically change how the car drives - how it stops, how it handles, how it rides. Remember, you bought the car because you liked how it drove.

It is possible to get a set of P215/50R17 93V tires for far less than $800+ if you do a little shopping.
