I wanted to know whether or not my dvd player will be ruined if I played a blu ray disc on it. Also, will it ruin the blu ray disc?

no you can put any type of disk in it and it wouldn't hurt it.(CD, DVD, HDDVD, Blue Ray) It probably wont play it but it won't ruin the player or disk.
