Thread: Why is my DVD burner burning speed so slow?

The burning speed is slow as 0.7X even I set it at 8X. The photos on the burned DVD are OK but the video clips cannot be played probably. What is wrong?

It can be quite a few things mate.

First, do you have all current drivers for your burner up to date. There are occassionally glitches with internal hardware programs, that can be resolved but going to the site and updating.

Two, how old is the burner?

Three, are you uploading with the correct data types? Typically you should be able to upload just about anything, but getting somethings to play off the disc, is another matter entirely. Data storage is one thing, home made movies are another (need programs for it).

Four, Your computer could be loaded down by a lot of shit. Check your computers performance levels, and make sure anything that is using more than 100 megs of memory is turned off (IE and Firefox can easily acheive this).

That should help a bit or atleast better help you ask a question or guide you in a rough direction. There is no definite way to diagnose your comps problem, without more precise information.
