When I put homemade dvd into my pc laptop, nothing happens?

When I put in this homemade dvd, nothing happens. When I put in mixed cds and regular cds the computer can play them, but it can't play this... I can find it in the files of my computer, but I can't play it that way... Also, I can play it on other people's pc laptops... any suggestions on how to play this movie? Thanks
