What's the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray?

    Seriously I have no idea.

Blu-ray is the next generation of DVD. It's kinda like when VHS and Beta came out. There was a fight for the best tape back then. Both felt they had the best quality of tape, and thus in the DVD world Blu-ray is going to be the leading standard like VHS. It in a nut shell is supposed to give you better quality video...not sure yet.

Blu-ray is the next generation, kinda like how DVDs replaced VHS. I would suggest not worrying too much about blu ray until the prices for blu ray players goes down. (Blu Ray discs require a blu ray player. You cannot play blu ray discs on a dvd player).

Blu Ray movies are HD (High Definition) so they definitely look better than DVDs. Also sound quality is improved, because Blu Ray discs can hold more data than DVDs.

So basically blu ray allows for a better quality movie, with better sound. However, you will need an HD television to take advantage of the improved quality.
