i was wondring since my laptop is dead, if i could take out the hardisk and the dvd burner and put it in my new desktop pc? the laptop is acer aspire 5100 and am gonna build a desktop machine. the specs r ANTEC Sonata III Miditower, black /500W psu

this is first time building pc so could this work am gonna use it 4 gaming and school am not gonna play crysis!!!!. and i need suggestions!!! ty
