Suggest a free software to convert a DVD content to normal video format that is

played in all VCD Players.? Im using a SONY DCR-DVD708 cam coder which records data in DVD format.I need such data be converted so that it can be written on CDs and played in normal VCD players.I got some coverters but converted content using those is not so good.
