Should a movie be written on DVD-R or a DVD+R?

and what are the differences between the two?

not a big diff, just type of burning, all dvd players should now read both. it used to be either your dvd burner would either burn with dvd-r or dvd+r but now they do both and autodetect the cd/dvd.
