Is it okay to stack a Wii on a DVD player?

I have a Wii and a DVD player and need more space on the shelf for my new Xbox. Is it okay to stack the Wii on top of the DVD player (the Wii is SMALLER than the DVD player)? Will it affect the fan inside or the cooling system to either player? Will there be any problems if I do it? Is it even OKAY? Please tell me all that you know. Thanks!

I don't think so. I once did this and my DVD player started having problems with the on/off button and the WII started having troubles with the remotes. I moved it to another place and after two days both problems got fixed automatically by themselves.
