have new , Pioneer internal dvd/cd writer , will play dvd but no sound,bought at best-buy,employee said i might need to go on net for plug-in , but he not say where or how. have dell 8300 w/2003 pro OS. any help welcome.

Double click the speaker icon from your task bar( lower right hand on the screen, next to the time) to see if there are any setting that are muted.
