My Windows Vista will not play my new DVD movies! Please Help!!?

I get this message:Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings., What can i do to fix this?I went to the control panel and there is no icon that says Display settings. i need to watch this dvd any suggestions?
