MY CD/DVD rom won't read a CD but it will play a DVD. ?

When i insert a CD it doesn't recognize it. Tells me to insert the CD. I have ran the trouble shooting program but still nothing. Should I replace the drive?

Yes. Replace the drive. Either swap it out or if you are scared of screwdrivers then get an external USB drive.

A drive has two lasers, one for the CD and one for the DVD and if one laser burns out it won't be able to read that type of disk.
