My CD Burner wont burn DVD+R's?

I just went out and bought some DVD+R discs and i put them in my CD Burner and it doesn't recognize them. They are Memorex DVD+R 16X 4.7GB 120 min DVD+R's and my burner is a HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4482B I've tried WinDVD Mini DVDSoft and alot of other programs that wont work, Please help.

you need a dvd burner a cd burner is different its for cds only. dvd burner is for dvds and cds, so buy a dvd burner and you should be good.

Verify that your DVD burner can handle DVD+R format and not DVD-R

Your Device can only burn DVD-R discs

So, return the DVD+R discs and buy a pack of DVD-R discs.
