laptop dvd burner reads cds but read dvds???
I have a dv4000 with a dvd burner. I got the hard drive replaced, put in the recovery disc, it spins but nothing happens. I put in a xp pro cd, it spins but again nothing comes up, I put a vista dvd and it starts working?? why, I want xp not vista

I had the same problem.For some reason, DVD burners don't like Windows OS CD's.I had to end up putting my CD burner back in to install XP.
