iPod Classic 80GB - I want to add movies from DVD's to my iPod?

I inserted a 2004 Original DVD to my Computer so I can RIP it from the Total Video Converter to MPEG4 or MOV so I can add it to my iPod. The Total Video Converter when I set the CONVERT NOW it just close automatically. I havent found a way to add movies from a DVD to my PC and then to my iPod.

Any suggestions?
