I'm Having a problem with the dvd player's (oppo dv-980h) USB input option?

hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting the usb to work.I can connect it, look at the main folder and one folder further but when i try to go even further it doesn't show anything
for example... first folder i click is videos, then i click show and i have many different show folders but it doesn't show them. about 2 weeks ago it did, but now I'm having this problem... does anyone have a solution (maybe a setting that was somehow changed)
