    If i have a dvd that i bought can i make a movie of it and upload it to youtube?

    I have a youtube account but i don't really know the rules of what i can upload. So if someone can give me some information about the rules I would really appreciate it.

    Legally, no. Although you own a copy of the movie, you don't own the copyright to anything in that movie.

    Although you see many cases where video movies and songs being uploaded and broadcast on YouTube, the copyright holder(s) can legally ask for them to be removed.

    You're also not allowed to make copies of the DVD that you own and distribute them.
