    I recently bought an Australian "dvd" with the understanding that I could either

    copy it, or decode to play... how to make a dvd "american" or US able to play...

    you really cant unless you have acomputer that is able to change itself so that it can play australian dvds. those comps. only allow you to change a couple of times soo unless all your going to watch are australian dvds, i wouldn't change it
