I put my usb into my dvd player but it cant find the film ?

Ok well i just brought a dvd player and it has a slot that you can put a usb drive into and play films off the usb.
So i got one of my films off itunes and copied it to my usb and put it in the dvd player.
It said no file was found.
So i got a music video and then put it back in and it found the file?
and it was able to play it.
I then realised the music video file was named as a widows media file and the film was a quicktime file. Does this effect anything?
i then tried to change the film to a windows media file but it said
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

I also tried to play it with DivX and VLC. but neither seamed to work.
Does anyone know a movie player that i could use that would play the film. Or why my dvd player cant find the film ?
    Please help . x

It doesn't find it because it's in a file format that it can't understand.

    DVD players read iso files.

Read your manual. It will tell you what formats the usb port supports. Read your manual.
