I own a mac and am trying to burn a dvd, what should i use?

I own a mac and am trying to burn a dvd, I hate iDVD so I don't want to use that, what programs should i try using? I want a program that can burn a movie over 120 minutes (I've used some that can't) and the DVDs will work with regular DVD players attached to my tv. Also, should I use DVD-R or DVD+R? Please help.
