my set top cable box won't do anything when i try to play a dvd. i press power...dvd...power...and then it wont show anything even though all the cables are plugged in correctly and the dvd player is playing the disc, it doesn't do anything!

I can't get my DCT2000 set-top cable box to show anything with my dvd player!?

Set-top boxes have NO video inputs (outside of the cable input), so I am not sure how you expect to play a DVD! It is impossible.
Connect the DVD player output directly to the TV input.
