I bought a used computer dell 4600 would the dvd rw would everything light up if...

...the motherboard is dead? and would the led light up on motherboard if it was dead and dvd drive open up

Typicaly the led on the board will light even if the board is bad. The dvd will open and close because its hooked to the power supply.
