Thread: How would i know if my laptop could play blu-ray dvd's?

My laptop is an HP Compaq and I don't know if that's the name of its model... Anyway, it is a COMPAQ HP laptop and I don't know what model it is. I also have an external dvd modem that plays DVD. How would I know if it could play Blu-ray dvd's?

How old is it? If it is more than a couple years old, it likely cannot play Blu-Ray discs.

In the absence of the paperwork that came with your laptop that would have described its features, I guess you could put a Blu-Ray disc in and see if it plays. If it does, you will know that it works, else you will know that it does not.
