Thread: How to take a DVD and make it a Video?

i have a highlight tape from football on a dvd of the whole team. I can put the dvd in my laptop and play it and watch it. However, i would like to burn the contents on the dvd onto my computer and take certain clips out of it and put it in a seperate hightlight video of clips involving myself.. how can i burn whats on my dvd to the computer and put it on video.. so that im able to later put it on youtube or facebook? thank you..
