how do you get your computer to automatically run a cd/dvd when it turns on?

i need to clean my hard drive by using my disk but i cant use it because i can only load my desktop when its in safe mode. But the cd doesnt run in safe mode so i want it to run automatically when i turn it on.

You must go into your BIOS when the computer first turns on, try hitting F12, F8, Delete rapidly when the computer turns on, CAUTION *Changing any of these options here without knowing what they do will serisouly DAMAGE your computer* Just go into the categories and find a boot section and you will find about 4 options such as CD, HD, Floppy, Internet and such as this, make your first boot priority to CD instead of HD. Make sure to save and exit out of your BIOS and see if it works out.
