How do you get video from a DVD to a computer to edit it?

I burned some videos of mine from my cam onto a dvd. But now when i put it in my comp and try to get the videos off it pop up all this stuff and saying i have to zip the files or something but anyway all i want to do is edit it using windows movie maker.

Help please? Thanks
