How do I transmit from DVD remote to ceiling sensor in bathroom via underfloor
Cat 5 cable to DVD player? I bought a bathroom TV that was HD ready. When we installed it in the bathroom, we put in under the tiles two different cables:
- HDMI cable running from behind the TV and under the floor to an upscaling DVD player in another room.
- a ceiling sensor which you can point the DVD player remote at. This sensor is connected inside the ceiling to a Cat 5 cable which runs under the floor and comes out just near the DVD player.
I have two questions for you.
- is there a standard type of connector that can be put on the end of the Cat 5 cable that can plug direct into the DVD player to operate it. It's a Philips player that upscales DVD's (DVD 5960).
OR
- if I need to buy some sort of transmitter, what do i need to buy to beam the single from the Cat 5 cable into the DVD player wirelessly.
I am looking for the quickest cheapest and easiest solution! Anyone who can help? Thanks greatly appreciated.
