Hey everyone! I have many DVD's at my house and one day I thought it would be fun to take some scenes from them and merge them all together into a small movie.

To do this, I have software that captures video from the screen. I also have a DVD-rom drive which can only read dvd's.
The only problem with this is that the recording goes fine, but when I play it back. There is a black screen but with sound. So I do not know what to do.

I am using Windows Media Player 11 with the FFDshow codec on Windows XP (I also have Vista with the same software on it too)

I heard that I was supposed to disable the hardware acceleration in media player, and now my regular avi files will screen capture, just no dvd's.

anyone have any ideas?
