How do I re-assemble a DVD copy (on hard drive) into a mountable image?

Okay, I am halfway through getting this DVD copy thing down, but I keep getting the same issues.. The DVD will copy to my hard drive, but when it does, it "splits" the files into Audio_TS and Video_TS folders etc... sure I know I can play each video file separately, but that's pretty useless.. Is there a way that I can re-assemble those files into a DVD image on the hard drive so that a virtual DVD rom can play it in exactly the same way as the original DVD??? (Oh, and I'm using a PC, not a Mac) Freeware solutions would be best, but I'm open to good ideas.. Oh, these are my OWN movies BTW, I'm not bootlegging stuff - Just want them backed up Please help!!

Use the "copy disk" feature of the dvd burning software. That should do it. It will write an image file to you hard drive. then you can burn it to disk.
