How do i get a dvd to play on my computer?

I put in a dvd yesterday and it worked. Today i put the same one in and now Its not working a message that says "Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings" shows up. I lowered my screen resolution but i don't know where to go for color quality. Please help!!!
