    How do i fix my optiarc 7530B dvd drive!?

    i have an Advent 9215 laptop and when i first had it the cd drive stoped working and pc world fixed it straight away for me but now its gone again and theyre now saying i need to go through the tech guys and thayll do it for free as its still under warranty, but they want to charge me 100 quid to fix it even if its still under warranty. Does anyone know how if its possible to fix it myself?!

    The drive is and Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530B ATA device.

    Please help its drivin me insane!

    have you found how to resolve this problem? Just i have the extact same preoblem . The Cd drive works while booting (i can boot off it) and it spins while laptop has loaded up but cannot find the drive anywhere (even not in my computer or device manager). The Laptop is Advent 9215 with Vista OS. It is so anoying and needs to be fixed but i dont want 2 pay to get it done if not needed to.
