How do I finalize a dvd in my camcorder?

I have a Samsung Digital Cam, Dvd camcorder. I am finished recording on the disk, and when I push the finalize disk button it says finalizing disk, but then after like a minute it goes back to the main screen and the disk is not finalized. Please help me I want to send this DVD to my boyfriend in Iraq, its everyone giving him messages.... Why doesnt it work?
