How big of a dvd would i need for Windows 7?

i Purchased Windows 7 online and i would like to make a copy of it onto a blank DVD. I was wondering how big would the dvd have to be, and is there any instruction on how to put it on a dvd as im only 13. Do i have to download it then install it or what? I dont want to stuff up my PC as windows 7 is an Xmas from my parents and Microsoft only gives me 30days to download it

Poster #1 essentially has it, just google "Burn windows 7 to disc" or such.

I would like to point out, however, that not all dvds are 4.7 gigs--just the standard commercial ones that most consumers buy and the maximum anyone has a use for . There are higher-storage capacity models for more extensive commercial use.

I think a standard dvd will be fine. You have to download the windows 7 iso and den make an iso dvd. If you have nero burning centre you can do this easily othrtwhise just search for free iso makers.

OK, first, download the windows *.iso file from microsoft. Use a download manager (or Firefox) so you can resume any failed downloads)

download this http://www.ntfs.com/iso-burning.htm to burn DVD's (it's free and works good, I use it)

get blank DVD's for your computer (probably 4.7 GB)

use the above software to burn the iso image to the DVD

Label the DVD and record the product ID number

I have also made a backup of windows 7 on a 4.5 GB DVD.

You can use a single layer dvd which is of 4.5 GB.

    Follow these steps

1)Insert your original windows 7 DVD
2)Open a burning software.Nero is best(Others are Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 ,Alchohol 120 and my more)
3)Choose a task copy dvd (or somethink like that)
    4)Wait for some time
5)It will ask for a blank DVD (Insert 4.5 GB DVD)
    6)Again wait for some time
7)The disk will be automatically ejected

    And you are done.
