my parents just bought this, dvd player/recorder and we hooked it up to the tv and when press play the dvd doesn't show up on the tv. Its clearly playing but there's no picture or sound.

hooked wrong. yellow to video white to sound. both tv and dvd. dont plug the 3rd wire in.
