It depends on what kind DVD's you are using. There are different formats out there. I have a Sony and it uses DVD+R but, won't play DVD-R. I had to look up my model and find out what kind of blank DVD's and manufacture it supported. I thought that you could go out and buy just any old blank DVD. Not so, try looking up your DVD player model and find out which DVD's it supports. Remember there are numerous makers of blank DVD's out there. Oh, one other thing. Your burner has to be able to support all these formats.
