Thread: DVD drive wont play DVDs?

it does play CD-ROM, CDs & can also burn CDs from iTunes. Wont play any DVDs; not even DVDs from my own region. (has 2 tries left) When I insert DVD, nothing happens except the light keeps flashing. I can't hear any working sound from the DVD drive. When I clicked on 'My Computer''s CD Drive, it showed nothing is in the drive. This task often freezes the desktop which results in all destop icons disappears. When I eject the DVD, the desktop returns back to normal again. Think the problem happened when I was using iTunes but I can't remember what I was doing at the time as it was a while back. I checked Control Panel-Systems-hardware-Device Manager-DVD/CD-ROM drivers: it showed that my DVD drive is working properly.

Can anyone please help?

THat is because your computer is old and it hasn't got a DVD in it. THE REASON WHY U CAN NOT PLAY CD IS BECAUSE YOU NEED A PROGRAM GET VLC MEDIA PLAY IT IS FREE.
