    the dvd drive in my computer is gone?

    i am trying to install new software and the DVD drive is not reading the disk. I have been poking around my the computer and it turns out the D drive isnt listed.

    Any tips or insight?

    The Computer is a PowerSpec desk top with Windows XP Pro.

    Had the same problem with mine, if you know what you are doing then check the cable on the back of the drive and make sure it hasn't just popped out a little

    open pc and just push the leads connected to it or take them out and put them back in and go to its website and find the drivers for it if not than you may need a new one remember all things die plus its dead simple to replace you can youtube it
