    DVD drive does not show in "Computer"!!!!!!!?

    i have a laptop (acer extensa 5620) windows vista , and my dvd drive does not show in my computer.
    i can not do anything , i cant burn. nor does it react to cds i put in..
    i tried deleting some files in the registry (i did restart afterwards) which helped a lot of people. but nothing.
    ..and it does not even show up in the device manager

    i worked perfectly for 1.5 years
    thank you, it WAS loose!!!!

    Try this. If you know where the drive is, open the back and see if it's plugged in. I think they can sometimes come loose.

    You might have to open up your laptop and check the power and data cables, they might be loose
