Thread: Does it make a difference if a DVD drive is configured as Master or Slave

if it is by itself? I installed a DVD drive into my computer and it is the only thing on the wire. I found out that it's still set as slave. Should I change it to master? I might add a hard drive onto the same cable and naturally the hard drive would be set as master and the dvd drive as slave, and it would be nice if I could just keep it as a slave instead of having to change it again.

Change it to master just in case if you want to add somthing else you won't have to do it later.
