its really unnecessery to data verification if you burn movies or music.but when you burn rar file or any software,its wise to check whether all data have written on the disk.in my opinion, you dont have to do that procedure unless stuffs you want to burn are most important.
but remember not to burn with maximum speed available.if you do so, all the data you want wouldnt be on the cd
It's not entirely necessary but it does just that...it verifies that the data burned to the CD is actually there and not corrupted somehow.
