Thread: Cannot play DVD from my PS3 on my new Samsung 2253?

Hello all,

I have a problem which I tried to solve in the last hours but I just cannot find the proper solution to it:

I connected a new Samsung 2253 to my ps3 via DVI-HDMI cable. When I want to play games there is the message: "Not optimum mode, recommended mode: 1680x1050". With games the message is gone when I press on one of the bottons.

But when I try to play a DVD I get the message and after 1 minute the picture of the movie is gone and all what I see is the same warning message moving around the blank screen like a screen saver. I can stop it just if I reset the screen or stop the playback of the dvd.

I tired everything, by changing the options in the PS3 and in the screen but nothing.

Please, I will be grateful if one of you know the answer.

I have the same problem.
I'm trying to connect philips dvd player/recorder to samsung 2253 monitor. It works, but just for about a minute. Then I get the same message.

Please, i neeed help!!
