For the last 10 hours i have been trying to get to the bottom of my DVD-RW problem. I've asked about 4 questions on yahoo answers! about this problem. The problem is that my DVD-RW drive can read anything from data to music to video... DVD's and CD's. However, it has the ability to also burn CD's and DVD's. The problem is, it cannot notice a blank DVD as a Blank DVD...it calls it a CD. I went to a friends house to use his brand new dvd burner which is installed in his brand new Computer. So we plop in a blank dvd-rw disk and guess what happens? Well...nothing really happens..but it turns out he has the same problem that I do, which only leads me to believe that because his hardware is brand new, mine most likely isn't just getting old or broken. He said that it must be because he doesn't have the drivers, but I am still at a loss as to where these drivers come from. I downloaded the ND 1300a firmware driver but that changed nothing.
SO to summarize. My DVD-RW(which is supposed to burn DVD's ) can do anything BUT burn dvd's.)
I have burned about 4 dvd's on this thing, but when my motherboard blew up, i had some professionals fix it and replace it and put in my old DVD=RW drives. Since then I have not burnt a dvd and now come to find that i cannot. Any help is appreciated.
