Can I use SATA_RAID port for DVD Drive ?

Ive just purchased an internal SATA dvd drive (originally thought to be external usb), and currently have no free SATA ports available on my motherboard.

I have an available SATA_RAID port and wanted to know if this port will accept this drive by itself and if so, what kind of BIOS config is required.
