Can I uninstall my DVD/CD Rom drive that came with my computer and
re-install another one? The dvd/cd driver on my computer gives me the following message when I find it through the device manager:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
And then I click on check for solutions, and it searches and doesn't come up with anything. Then I click on Update, and it says my driver software is up to date.
I don't know what to do because I can't burn discs, and I can't think of anything to do other than delete that one and download something like Nero, but I don't know if this will mess my computer up in a drastic way.
Please help! And please keep it in layman terms. I do not know anything about computers.
