Can I replace the DVD drive in an Acer Aspire 8930 with Bluray?

I purchased Acer's Aspire 8930, but it came with the DVD+-R/W drive and I've recently been considering upgrading the drive to Bluray. Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, what type of bluray drive should I look for?

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah you can but you have to disassemble your LAPTOP (you should have put that in) to like do all that and it might not be compatible.... but most likely will be (SATA)

    Another solution is

Don't replace it... Get a external Blu-Ray disc that doesn't need to be plugged in to a power outlet (most don't have to)... Just do that....

    It's worth it...

External drives are drives that connect to the USB port, Firewire port, or eSATA.... for convenience..

Make sure you get a slim one so you can carry it around anywhere

Contact your dealer and see it they already a blueray drive that will fit in your laptop. Otherwise, you can buy an external blueray drive that connects to one of your USB ports. I like the LiteOn from http://us.liteonit.com/us/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id= 59&Itemid=197

Yes all you would have to do is open up the case and unplug the router from the power supply and from the motherboard and remove it and install the BLU-Ray.

As to what brand.. can't be much help there.
