I'm starting on a indie production that will go straight-to-dvd, not requiring the extensive resolution of a film that will be shown in cinemas on a projector. I can only spend $800 on a digital movie camera, and I need something that will look professional on dvd, able to capture beauty in light and dark places. I truly cannot spend more than $800, this film is going to shine more with special shots, scenery, and acting more than the video quality, but I need something that is not obviously low-quality. I've considered the Vixia series of Canon, but is any other recomendations for this same price??? An additional detail is this film is a dark indie film that is relying on natural sets and lighting, natural artistic stuff, it is not a complex production.

Also, if I truly do 100% with no possible alternatives need to spend a little more on a better camera, please still recommend something under $2000.
