Thread: Avi video file not showing on DVD player but shows on a computer with Divx?

I was burning a DVD on my desktop and i could never watch it. But i Burned it to a data dvd and playede it on my laptop(with Divx) and it played. But then i put it in a dvd player it says disc read error.How do i get it 2 play on the dvd player?

your DVD player most likely does not have the proper codecs to read that format of avi. You can convert the avi file to a more commonly read format (like mpg) and try it that way. You'll need to consult your DVD manual to see the formats it accepts.

You have to convert it to DVD format. I use the program ConvertXtoDVD and it does all the work for ya.
