I have always had a problem with dvd and their sound. If i turn the volume up enough to hear people talking i get blasted out when music starts. How can i get the sound to be around one volume. I just play through the tv and it doesn't have an equalizer so i cannot adjust it. I also have tried to use a stereo for sound thinking it would fix the problem but it was the same.

In DVDs, dialog is recorded in the center channel, which you don't have.

Either you set-up the DVD player wrong or it does a lousy job downmixing 5.1 into two channels.

When you play DVDs, select Stereo from the audio options.
On your DVD player, in audio, select two-channel PCM NOT bitstream.
