why doesn't divx download on my imac g4?

I tried to download divx for this imac g4 and as i was downloading it... this popped up

"divx for mac cannot be installed on this computer . divx for mac 7.1 only runs on Macintoshes with intel processors."

need help in either finding a program that would help watch my movies like mks. mp3 mpeg etc......
please and thank you
