How can I burn an Divx file to DVD?

My dvd player says it only plays Divx dvd's. I've just made a file that I want to burn to dvd and it's already Divx, so now all I need is to burn it on to dvd, what program do i need to do this??
and i know my dvd player plays ordinary dvd's i just didn't know how else to put my question omg im so confused arrrggghh!!

If you have nero, you can burn it as a data disc, which will play in your divx player.
I should imagine your player plays normal dvds as well.
